Diane Derbyshire

I moved to Walkeringham in 2003 and have loved becoming part of village life. I enjoy getting involved in the community and am passionate about protecting and preserving the character, heritage, and services that make Walkeringham such a special place to live.

My background has always been in Health & Social Care. I began my career in the residential care sector, before working as a Social Worker with the Children’s Disability and Health team. I later managed a large Community Resource Centre in the heart of Doncaster, supporting some of the most vulnerable members of the community.

Since 2016, I have worked with Headway UK, the Brain Injury Association, as a Network Support Coordinator covering Yorkshire, the Humber and the East Midlands. In this role, I work closely with local groups and represent Headway on a number of boards, helping to raise awareness of the needs of people affected by brain injury, as well as supporting their families and carers.

Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, spending time in the countryside, and taking part in village life. I also love cooking and hosting family and friends.

I strive to influence positive change for the village and be a voice for local people.
