Parish Councillor
Mark Glossop
My wife, Sharon, and I moved to Walkeringham in September 2023 and were blown away by the incredibly warm welcome we received. We instantly fell in love with village life, and you’ll frequently spot us out walking around our beautiful parish with our dog Barney — which has been the perfect way to meet so many of our fantastic neighbours.
That strong sense of community inspired me to give something back. I became a Walkeringham Parish Councillor in 2024, and I am deeply proud to represent the people who live here. Helping others has always been a major part of my life; I served with Rotherham Lions for a number of years and managed the South Yorkshire Blood Bikes charity between 2012 and 2014. Carrying that passion forward today, I also volunteer with Five Village First Responders and qualified as a Community First Responder in July 2026.
I am dedicated to serving Walkeringham and surrounding areas, whether that means supporting village projects on the council or stepping up during a medical emergency
